The Cost Of Freedom

“I didn’t want any flowers, I only wanted
To lie with my hands turned up and be utterly empty.
How free it is, you have no idea how free——
The peacefulness is so big it dazes you,
And it asks nothing, a name tag, a few trinkets.
It is what the dead close on, finally; I imagine them
Shutting their mouths on it, like a Communion table”—- ( Sylvia Plath,  The Collected Poems)

http://youtu.be/HIKOpF08G5w  Neil Young, my fellow Scorpio 🙂 The accidental sufi loves , just loves him. Do you too  ?  Plays sacred sounds. His music just digs in. You don’t hear it…you feel it. Some years back,I remember asking  a friend &  real nice guy, who wanted  music/R n R recommendations from me,  where he feels the music ?  We were having lunch in a very favorite restaurant , ‘Basil & Thyme’ ( A must visit. Its  in Santushti Shopping Complex, New Wellingdon Camp, Opposite Hotel Samrat, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi).  He told me ‘in his heart’.  I quoted Lester Bangs to him “Don’t ask me why I obsessively look to rock ’n’ roll bands for some kind of model for a better society. I guess it’s just that I glimpsed something beautiful in a flashbulb moment once, and perhaps mistaking it for prophecy have been seeking its fulfillment ever since “. I have also had my flashbulb moment in music, which showed me beauty that hurt actually, because it was  so pure. So, I smiled and told him to ask someone else. Because I feel it in my guts 🙂
