The image used for the album cover is the June 11th,1963 image of, Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Thich Quang Duc burning himself to death in Saigon, in protest of Vietnam president Ngo Dinh Diem’s oppression of the religion.Fantastic imagery to convey the message of political fury by the band. Zach de la Rocha screams “Enough, I Call The Bluff…F*** Manifest Destiny”!

  1. There will be no end to our troubles till philosophers become kings, or till those we now call rulers really and truly become philosophers and political power and philosophy thus come into the same hands.

    • Hi Paul,
You are referring to Plato & his Ideal State. So he says “Until philosophers rule as kings or those who are now called kings and leading men genuinely and adequately philosophize, that is, until political power and philosophy entirely coincide…cities will have no rest from evils…there can be no happiness, either public or private, in any other city.” But it is so Utopian, non ? 🙂
